PIE Board Visits PENCIL in Nashville to Strengthen School and Community Partnerships

Recently, members of the PIE Board traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to meet with PENCIL, a nationally recognized organization known for its innovative approach to connecting businesses and communities with local schools.

For Partners in Education, this visit represented another valuable opportunity to learn, collaborate, and continue growing our impact across Douglas County schools.

This marks the third time PIE leadership has visited PENCIL’s headquarters to gain insight into best practices for partnership development, nonprofit growth, and community engagement.

Learning from a National Leader in School Partnerships

PENCIL has become widely recognized as a leader in building meaningful relationships between schools, businesses, and community organizations. Their work focuses on creating strategic partnerships that help support students, teachers, and schools in impactful ways.

During the visit, PIE Board members spent time learning about:

  • partnership development strategies

  • nonprofit sustainability

  • community engagement initiatives

  • volunteer and business involvement

  • innovative school support programs

These conversations continue to help strengthen PIE’s mission and vision as we grow partnerships throughout Douglas County.
